Review & #Win Couture Kingdom 101 Dalmations Pongo & Perdita Kissing Dogs White Gold Plated Necklace

May’s Instagram competition prize is a Couture Kingdom 101 Dalmations Pongo & Perdita Necklace (£45). All you have to do is follow my account and like the post. You can tag friends for extra entries. The competition is open internationally and closes on 1 June.

Both the necklace and pendant are 14kt white gold plated with enamelled detailing, featuring Pongo and Perdita, the stars of 101 Dalmations.  The chain is 45cm  has a 7cm extender, fastening with s lobster clasp. As I have problems gripping small clasps I do prefer lobster fasteners as I find them easier to hold. The pendant measures 20 by 35 mm. The necklace is officially licenced Disney jewellery and it   is presented in official Disney Couture packaging, a box wrapped in their distinctive purple branded tissue paper plus a mini pack of refresher sweets. I have a lot of CK jewellery but I think this is my favourite piece ( I bought one for me and one to use as a prize). The necklace hangs really well and the dogs are instantly identifiable - I wish they would bring out matching earrings.

I purchased this item myself and the views expressed in this blog are my own.

Review: Em’s Vintage Prints

I was lucky enough to win this vintage squirrel print in an instagram giveaway run by Em’s vintage prints, an Etsy store that specialises in affordable vintage prints. There are lots of unusual prints to choose from, I especially love the Pantheon and the gerbil ones! Mine came presented in a white card sleeve,  so I could either put it in a picture frame or display it as it is in a minimalistic fashion. These prints would make great presents- they are easy to post and there is a huge amount covering every category you can think of! There are also 2 codes displayed within the Etsy shop that give 10% off if you purchase two or 15% off of you purchase three prints. This is a small business that just like so many others needs support during these tough times and I for one will be using them again in the future.

Disclaimer: I won this print in a giveaway but this has not effected my review in any way.

Review & #Win: Wet Brush Narwhale Unicorn Plush Kid’s Detangler Hairbrush

The Wet brush narwhal unicorn detangler hairbrush is part of the Wet brush kids plush brush range. The range consists of several plushies or huggable characters such as the narwhal that can be attached to a child’s size Wet brush.

The brush measures 9cm x 3.1cm in length and the brush handle is just the right size and comfortable for a child/ small hand to grip. The bristles are ultra soft intelliflex bristles that make detangling and de knotting tangled or curly hair so much easier with less tears, minimising pain and making it a more enjoyable experience!  The design of the bristles also helps prevent both tearing and split ends.  The bristles gently massage the scalp stimulating blood flow and strengthening hair.

I chose the narwhale unicorn plush as it is so cute. The plush itself is completely detachable - I didn’t remove it totally for my photos as I am using it as competition prize - and it is easy to get in and off. The material is partly blue with a tiny heart on his cheek. The whole concept is adorable and well thought out. Who wouldn’t want a narwhal to brush their hair??

Review: Classic Canes Amethyst Marbled Acrylic Derby Moderne Walking Stick

I purchased the Classic CanesAmethyst acrylic marbled moderne derby walking stick from the Stick & Cane Shop (£36.95 plus postage). It is an extremely elegant and lightweight walking stick. The colour combination is eye catching and a classic combination of purple, black and a silver tone accent around the top of the stick. The handle is very tactile - the purple is the exact deep purple colour as high quality Brazilian amethyst and the colour shifts slightly as the light changes. The handle puts a twist on the original derby style whence the modern reference. I have very small hands and find the handle comfortable to hold and use.

The shaft of the walking stick is black and made from hardwood. There is a silver gilt metal collar to break up the two main colour ways.  The stick is stylish, sophisticated, light weight and easy to adjust. I had 28 cm cut off as I am small in stature. Without my modifications the walking stick measures 95cm and weights 250g. It doesn’t have a wrist strap but I don’t see that as a problem for me as I don’t really use them. The walking stick comes in several other colour ways: garnet; emerald; silver; pink and coffee. All of these options have the same black shaft. There are also extending versions available for £56.

I purchased this item myself and the views expressed in this blog are my own.
