She loves her friends, job and is happy with her lot in life. She meets newly widowed surgeon Matt Hunter who is the father to two small children. The connect during stream building weekend in the wilds of Cumbria. Neither of them are looking for love, instead it finds them!
This is Caroline’s 100th M&B novel and it doesn’t disappoint. The medical aspect of the novel doesn’t take over or swamp the development of the relationship although Matt’s declaration of love and subsequent marriage proposal does seem a bit quick and rushed, spoiling the speed of the storyline. It is a traditional romance, no dramatic storyline or angst, just two characters who’ve had a rough time slowly finding their HEA.
