Review: Wetbrush Charcoal Infused Paddle Detangler

I saw the WetBrush Charcoal Infused Paddle Detangler (£11.99), when ordering a new WetBrush Pro Paddle detangler. I decided to try it out as the charcoal infused bristles are supposed to  remove impurities, balance oil and increase the hair’s shine and smoothness. Excess sebum is removed whilst the hair shaft is deeply cleansed in order to let the hair strands breathe. The TPE strips are an eco friendly material which reduce static and frizz. The hairbrush is suitable for oily hair (me) as it brushes, detangles, refreshes and styles. The Intelliflex bristles prevent strands breaking, less tugging and pain when detangling and hair is quickly detangled. 

 This hairbrush is perfect for me - my hair does break easily and I did notice less breakage when using this WetBrush. I didn’t notice less pain - I normally use the WetBrush Pro range and I thought that the bristles on the charcoal version felt brisker on my scalp, leaving a cleaner more massaged feel to it. My hair didn’t seem to be de frizzed but did seem less oily, looked shinier and healthier. The brush isn’t particularly heavy and the handle is comfortable to hold - this is important if you have long hair and brushing can take quite a long time! 

I liked using the Charcoal infused WetBrush and I will use it in rotation with my Pro Paddle brush when I want a brisker brush and my scalp feels like it needs a cleanse.

Review: Wet Brush Detangler & Detachable Mirror

I have extremely long hair which gets detangled and knotted very quickly! My hair brush of choice is the Wet Brush, which I have reviewed several times on my blog as it comes in many different guises! This version is the same size as the original series and comes with a detachable mirror (£12.99 currently £5.94 with Amazon Prime).

The Wet Brush is head and shoulders above all other hair brushes because of it’s innovative and patented intelliflex bristles system. This design helps prevent hair breakage (45% less breakage) and the SofTips (Wet Brush’s other innovation for pain free brushing) make it easier for the brush to glide through the hair without being painful. The tips of the bristles are firm enough to de knot and detangle but also soft enough not to rip out and through hair. This brush glides through and detangles my hair as easily as the rest of the Wet Brushes in my collection. The brush handle is rubberised and is both comfortable and easy to hold. Even when half the brush is detached so the mirror can be used I still find it easy to grip and brush my hair with despite my dexterity issues and neuro pain problems in my hands. 

The mirror is a fun innovation and would be great for travel (got to think positively). The mirror isn’t a gimmick. It really does work and sadly picked up a few more wrinkles: laughter lines I hadn’t noticed. The mirror is attached/detached with magnets in the brush handle which clip it firmly in to place. The brush is slightly heavier than others in the original range but it’s not really obvious unless you are comparing the two.  

I like the colour combination and the fun/unique element of the mirror. I would buy these as gifts and think the mirror is a great idea.

Review: Wet Brush Go Green Oil Infused Coconut Brush

This Wet Brush is not yet available in the UK so I purchased it from Amazon for $12.66 plus $5.35 shipping. I love Wet Brushes, I have used and reviewed several different ones and my absolute favourite is the Epic Deluxe Shine hairbrush. I saw the Go Green oil infused range of Wet Brushes advertised on the US Wet Brush instagram page and was intrigued as my hair has been looking dry, frizzy and limp due to a variety of reasons. 

The Go Green line, as the name suggests, is very eco friendly. The brush handle is made from biodegradable starch which will break down in a landfill within 5 years.  The boar bristles are cruelty free and distribute the natural hair oils, leaving it looking healthy and shiny. The ultra soft IntelliFlex bristles easily and gently detangle knotted hair whilst protecting against split ends and breakage. The cushion of the brush is infused with Coconut Oil. The oil will last for up to 6,000 brush strokes and conditions each strand of hair, smoothing the cuticle and locking on moisture for softer looking and feeling hair, leaving it smooth and shiny. 

The brush is incredibly light in comparison to my Epic Wet Brush which I am pleased about as I have been struggling to use it as my health deteriorates. The bristles feel gentle but still massage the scalp, the coconut oil isn’t noticeable, I can’t smell or feel it in my hair but it does look shiny, feel softer and is overall more manageable.   I really like this brush, it is light, easy to manage, my hair looks more me again, rather than just than the frizzy yet lifeless mess of a few weeks ago. I will continue to use it and the Go Green version may well become my favourite brush. 

I don’t use a hairbrush whilst drying my hair but there is a warning not to use a blow dryer with this brush as it may damage the bristles, instead the advice is to use a Speed Dryer instead.

The Wet Brush Wet Detangling Comb

The Wet BrushPro Wet Detangling Comb is £5.99 from Amazon UK using Prime.  Great for detangling both wet and dry hair, it doesn't snag or pull as the Wave Tooth ensures the comb goes through hair evenly which prevents clumping, snagging or breakage.  The handle is ergonomic and comfortable to hold.  It is great for detangling big knots after swimming etc or for use brushing air masques or conditioner through hair.  The wavy shape of the teeth allows th masque/conditioner to get to the scalp and the teeth also give the scalp a really good massage.   It is a nice sized comb, not to heavy or light It is sturdy and does not bend or give (up) but glides through my hair.

Wet Brush Pro Flex Dry: A Review

The Wet Brush Pro Flex Dry brush is flexible to ensure maximum detangling, has a vented brush and has heat resistant Intelliflex bristles.  I do not need to use it to blow dry as I use a hot brush dryer but I do find it fantastic for brushing hair masques and conditioner through my wet hair in the shower. I also find it useful for gently brushing out huge knots rather than having top rip the ball out I just apply some hair oil - normally bio agave - and then brush through.

Wet brush-pro are EPIC and are a Mini Spa For Your Hair!

I purchased both the EPIC PROFESSIONAL Wet brush-pro Deluxe Shine (£17.32) and Deluxe Detangler  (£16.72) from Amazon UK.  

The brush-pro range is their elite line of hair brushes, designed for professionals.  EPIC is their acronym for the brush-pro key attributes: Elite; Professionals; Inspired and Creative.  

The Deluxe Shine is the larger of the two brushes. It is a paddle brush which has a very soft bed for the bristles so they do not tug or snag your hair.  The shine comes from the bristles combining  a blend of 100% boar bristles with the Wet brush's patented IntelliFlex bristles, which detangle whilst the boar bristles add shine, luster and remove impurities from the scalp.  This combination of bristles boosts the scalp's circulation and spreads the hair's natural oils from roots to tip, leaving your hair shiny, manageable and healthier.   This brush is also supposed to work well with dry shampoos, enhancing the shampoo by cleansing and purify your hair with every brush stroke.  

The Deluxe Detangler is the smaller of the two brushes.  the bed of the brush is not as soft and bouncy as the shine brush, it feels firmer as I brush it through my hair.  Ergonomically designed, the brush has a longer and stronger handle which is great for me as I have difficulty reaching the top of my head.  The brush head has been redesigned, with a larger bristle and cushion area which allows the brush to glide through more hair with one swipe and "maximise detangling efficiency and enables faster styling with less breakage.  The bristles are IntelliFlex bristles which allows tangles and knots to be brushed out easily with little or no pulling, tugging, ripping out of hair or pain. I had a huge knot at the back of my hair (where my arm cannot reach) and even my normal Wet brush was struggling to de-knot it.  My mum, using the Deluxe Detangler managed to get the knot out in a few swipes without having to pull out any hair, so it definitely works!

The EPIC range of Wet brush-pro are like mini spas for the hair and scalp.  Both the brushes glide through my hair, and with a few swipes my hair was brushed and my scalp felt massaged.  My scalp feels as though I have had my hair brushed at a salon as my scalp actually feels as though the bristles have got through to the scalp (my hair is very thick) and massaged it.

Due to long term medication, the texture of my hair has changed.  Before I had to have Duralgesic morphine patches my hair was poker straight and easy to manage.   Now my hair is coarse, wavy and a lot harder to detangle.  I cannot use a tangle teazer as I cannot reach the top or back of my head without a decent brush handle.

The detangling and shine brush has soft and flexible intelliflex bristles which makes the detangling process painfree and easy to do.  The brush can be used on wet and dry har and also on extensions and wigs.  The brush does not seem to snag on my waist length hair but glides through a lot easier than other brushes I have tried.  It does make my hair my hair shinier.  

 I use the paddle brush to brush my hair when I have just washed it as the bristles are wider apart than the detangling brush.  I then use the detangler to go over and smooth and finish detangling my hair. Like the detangler the paddle brush has intelliflex bristles, The soft tips make the bristles glide through without snagging and hurting my sensitive scalp.  The soft tips massage the scalp stimuating circulation of the hair follicle.   

 The lil' lovin hairbrush is a cute, handbag size wet brush. It has the same intelliflex bristles as the larger versions and is freat for travel or just to pop in your bag for use on the go.  

 I got the key chain version via eBay. It is a fun little brush, great for shorter hair or fringes but its not much use for my waist long hair, it does brush though and I use it to target and detangle big knots or tidy up the end of my plait. 

 This nifty little item is designed to clean all hair from your wt brush (it can be used with other brushes, hair dryer filters, shavers and razors).  I just swipe down through the bristles with it and all the hair is pulled out from my brush.  It doesn't just pull out the hair from the brush but also sweeps away any gunk from the base of the bristles.

I love all my wet brushes and would not use anything else. I have a tried a lot of different brands at different price points but I find that Wet brushes do not hurt my sensitive scalp and that they detangle rather than just  skin over or rip out knots of hair!
