Review: Accessorize / Z for Accessorize 14ct Gold Plated Tourmaline Pebble Necklace

I haven’t purchased any jewellery from Z for Accessorize for around a year as nothing has really caught my eye plus I have put myself on a strict no buy rule with a few exceptions. I was, however, skimming through my Instagram feed and this tourmaline necklace popped up.

This necklace measures 40cm including the extender. The chain is 14ct gold plated and the “pebbles” are pieces of tourmaline in dusty hues of pink, green, orange and grey. Tourmaline is thought to be a healing and calming stone both of which I need in bucket loads at the moment. The stones are absolutely beautiful and the necklace looks so much more expensive than it actually was/is.

I had some points to use up and there was 30% off so it was a bargain! Accessorize do seem to be doing lots of offers at the moment, at the moment there is a £10 off £40 spend, plus if you have a free Accessorize card you get free shipping and collect points from purchases!

The extender is innovative and means that the wearer has mr choice and control over how long the chain/ necklace will be. Traditional attached extender chains just have 3 or 4 rings fastened to a chain, so the necklace can be extended 3 different lengths. This necklace has a chain with a little ball with a ring attached which slides up and down the chain when it is held straight and tight  the wearer has a lot more choice and control over the exact length they want the necklace to be which I think is great.

I haven’t seen much/ any Accessorize jewellery that I have liked or would recommend for so long but this necklace is great. It is very old school Lola Rose in the way the stones are cut and threaded together. The necklace could be worn as a year round piece as the pinks and orange stones sing warm summers whilst the greens and greys will look great next to burgundy or green jumpers for winter.  I love the innovative way the extender means the wearer has more choice over the length of the chain. My necklace will be a staple piece and I intend to rewear it a lot.

I purchased this item myself and the views expressed in this blog are my own.

#win Pippa Small Jewellery/ Monsoon Aquamarine Pendant

Pippa Small Jewellery is an ethical Jewellery brand that has won numerous awards for their ethical Jewellery and humanitarian work.  She has designed several Jewellery lines in collaboration with the Turquoise Mountain Foundation on Afghanistan and this work has expanded into Burma.  Monsoon collaborated with Pippa Small Jewellery in 2013/15 and created several collections which were more purse friendly - her work is beautifully crafted but very expensive! I missed out at the time but I regularly search Ebay and found this aquamarine Pendant.  The chain is 18ct gold plate and it has an s fastener.  The stone measures 3cm (L) and 21/2 cm(W) and is quite heavy.  I got 2 and have decided to use this piece as a competition prize.

It is a Rafflecopter competition,

Jewellery Advent Calendars 2016: £5-£179

Jewellery advents are a fun way to expanding your jewellery collection or to give as a gift to someone as a way of introducing them to the world of jewellery.  I have found some that range from £5-179 and a couple are housed in reusable jewellery boxes.
This one is the cheapest and is from Monsoon. It is £5 and comes with 25 pairs of stick on earrings.

This unicorn advent is £10 from Accessorize.   This is aimed at little girls and each door has either stick on earrings or a ring behind it. There is a blue advent for £15. This has a necklace and a bracelet plus 22 seasonal charms.

This is from Kramer.co.uk and is £19.90 for 24 horse themed jewellery charm and 4 bracelets.  These are nickel free.

The Meri Meri Nutcracker Jewellery Box Advent Calendar s £21 from trouva.com but prices range slghtly in price depending upon the website (it is £18.99 at partypieces.co.uk).  There is a jewellery box (4.3"x 6.7"), 1 braceet and 23 festive charms.

This is from Amazon.co.uk.  It is £23.72 plus £4.49 delivery.  It is by Nici and the charms can be put on a wrist wrap hair clip or bobble/ elastic band.
This is from Etsy and the seller is Pearls of Symphony.  There are 24 earrings with a choice of handmade jewellery/box/advent.

This is from Johnnylovesrosie.com.  It is £55   It is filled with jewellery which have either gold or silver plated metal finishes.  There is a surprise of a fine chain necklace, earrings or a ring behind each door..
This is the most expensive at £179 from tresacharms.com but it was on wowcher.co.uk last year so keep an eye out for it being cheaper there. This advent has 24 pieces which include 18k and silver plated overlay murano beads, earrings, necklaces, watches and bracelets.

I hope you enjoyed reading about these jewellery advents and enjoy opening whatever advents you receive whether they be chocolate, lego or jewellery!
