Review: LittleSilverHedgehog Hedgehog Copper Book Charm Pendant

I love Little Silver Hedgehog jewellery and the fact that a percentage of the profit from her jewellery goes towards supporting her York based hedgehog rescue. I purchased the Hedgehog Copper Book Charm Pendant a while ago and I have finally unearthed it to use a prize and to review it.

The book pendant is at the higher price point within LSH jewellery range. It is part of the copper range and it is handmade. The book is made of copper and the rope chain has a rose gold infill. The book is incredibly intricate. The front cover has a hedgehog strolling across it and is also adorned with two little champagne coloured stones, a few leaves and flowers.  The book measures 1.4x2.1cm. The book can be opened by gently sliding down the sliding bead which widens the chain on the bottom of the book. When the book is opened two pages are revealed, each featuring a cute illustration of a little hedgehog. The back of the book is plain so will be comfortable to wear. This piece is so intricate, different and detailed. So much thought and time must have gone into making this pendant.

I love this pendant. I am only going to be using it as a competition prize because I wear (legally prescribed) Fentanyl patches which affects my skin’s PH balance and will make the copper go green and will stain my skin! This piece deserves to be worn and admired whilst also spreading the important message - save the hedgehogs.

Review: LittleSilverHedgehog Silver Hedgehog Earrings

These silver hedgehog earrings became internet and TV famous last year when cheap copies appeared on Shein and Aliexpress Link. The copies don’t come anywhere close to the original but do have a gothic appeal, but only if you are willing to put something  through your ear without knowing what it is!  They have now been removed from sale and the originals can be found on LSH’s Etsy page.

I selected the hedgehog earrings with pink cubic zirconia eyes (£55). The hedgehogs are sculpted by hand and are made from solid silver and measure 1.3x1cm. They hang from sterling silver wire hooks. There are matching items available. A portion of the profits goes to supporting Emma’s hedgehog rescue, so you are wearing a hedgehog to help save them!

I love these earrings and would love to keep them for myself but unfortunately I have developed a silver allergy so cannot wear them. They would languish in my jewellery box and they deserve to be worn and admired so keep an eye on my X account- @susan1375 for a competition coming in July 2025.

Review: Disney x BaubleBar Minnie Mouse Rainbow Bow Earrings

Last year I purchased a Disney x BaubleBar jewellery collaboration mystery box from the now defunct DoubleboxToys. I finally got around to unboxing the items to use as prizes so here’s my take on the Minnie Mouse Head Silver Tone Stud earrings.

These Minnie Mouse Head Silver Tone stud earrings are for pierced ears and measure 1/2x1/2”. They are based on the iconic Minnie Mouse head and bow. They are small elegant studs which stay true to the instantly recognisable silhouette of Minnie’s ears, head and iconic bow. It’s a shame that they are only silver tone as they would be great to wear as everyday studs that don’t need to be taken out as they lie flat against the way and there is nothing that can snag and rip the earring out. I haven’t worn them as they are a prize.

I like these earrings. They are different to the existing Disney/ Minnie Mouse designs. Sadly it doesn’t look as though BaubleBar have any stockists in the UK and can only be found in TKMaxx which is a shame. I like both the Disney collab and BaubleBar’s standard lines. I am put off, however, by the original £€£ RRP and the fact that the majority of their designs are gold or silver tone not at least gold or silver plate. There are a few sterling silver designs on their website but they do not shop to the UK and they have no plans to start doing so. I would expect some type of plating for the prices that are charged.

Review: Disney x BaubleBar Minnie Mouse Rainbow Bow Earrings

Last year I purchased a Disney x BaubleBar jewellery collaboration mystery box from the now defunct DoubleboxToys. I finally got around to unboxing the items to use as prizes so here’s my take on the Minnie Mouse Rainbow Bow gold tone earrings for pierced ears.

These earrings are for pierced ears and measure 1x1.5”. They are based on the iconic Minnie Mouse posing in her red dress and bow but they have elevated her look. Her red dress sparkles with red gems and her iconic bow is covered in sprinkles making the whole look seem very tactile and eye catching. The earrings feel very light despite looking like they should be heavy (I haven’t worn them as they are a prize). They are gold toned.

Review: Bare Kind Elephant Socks

Just when you thought charities had every area covered they focus on  basic every day item that everyone needs - SOCKS! Barekind.co.uk donate 10% of the profits of each pair of socks to a charity related to the graphics on the sock.

My socks are elephant themed so a donation is made to the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation.  “Make a statement with your socks and help protect endangered species at the same time” is a fun but at the same time serious premise. The socks make a statement but also suppose great causes.

I love my socks they are bright and fun, keep my feet warm and help a great cause, as they are bamboo socks they are so soft which is great as I have neuropathic pain in my feet and cannot tolerate certain materials on my tootsies! what isn’t there to like about this item/ company? Philanthropic and stylish too! I will buy these socks for gifts throughout the year as socks aren’t just for Christmas!

Benefit: Dream Screen

As this weekend is supposed to be hotter than Brazil I thought I would post this today. We should wear sunscreen everyday in order to protect our skin from long term sun damage/ skin cancer, but often sunscreens can be greasy, which can put us off from using it.  Dream Screen by Benefit is a broad spectrum, oil free, fragrance free spf of 45. It is £27 for 45.0 ml.  It delivers a silky matte finish and sinks into the skin immediately leaving the skin feeling sofft, moisturised and hydrated.   it doesnt leave a film or white overcast on the skin.

I have found that a little goes a long way and that it makes a great substitute for primer.  It feels as though I am applying a serum which transforms quickly into a velvety finish.  My makeup doesn't go patchy when i am wearing this sunscreen and it increases its longevity.  As it is oil and fragrance free it doesn't break me out as some sunscreen do as they clog my pores.  The bottle is easy to find in my bag as I just feel for the unusual cap.

I purchased this item myself and the views expressed in this blog are my own.
All Benefit products are available from their online store, Boots. House of Fraser, Look Fantastic etc.
