Review: Disney Princess Yellow Gold-Plated Beauty & the Beast Belle Message Bangle

I got the Disney Belle 14k yellow gold plated message bangle as a GWP with an order I made at CoutureKingdom.com.  I recently was looking through my jewellery box to sort out what hadn’t been worn and would be used as part of my Disney jewellery/ hanging ornament competitions that I will be running over Christmas on both my Instagram and Twitter accounts and I realised that I hadn’t worn this bangle. 

 The bangle is very beautiful. It is a high shine, bright yellow 14k gold plate. It has Belle’s signature engraved on the inside of the bangle and “adventure is waiting for you” on the outside. It is presented in a Disney/Couture Kingdom gift box and is part their Princess Collection. It has a hinge clasp and the width of the bangle is 55mm. 

 I love the inspirational message and the look of the bangle but I find the hinge clasp very difficult to open close. I found it got easy to do as I was taking it on and off for photos but the struggle I had with the closure puts me off from wearing it.

Review: Disney Store Beauty and the Beast Legacy Hanging Ornament

I was shocked to see that the original Beauty and the Beast animated film is 30 years old this year. I remember going to see it at the Cinema when it was released and loving Chip and Mrs Potts. Naturally Disney have released a 30 year celebration legacy sketchbook hanging pin celebration of this milestone and I was lucky enough to purchase one (they sold out quickly and have only come back in stock once).

The Beauty and the Beast Legacy Hanging Ornament costs £20 and can be purchased from the ShopDisney websites. The ornament features Belle and the Beast dancing within a glass globe/ dome/bell jar. The glass jar isn’t removable and has a rose engraved on it. I wish the glass was plastic as it will be very easy to smash it if it knocks against another ornament or if it is dropped. The ornament can be either free standing (which I prefer) or hing from the red ribbon which also has a 30 year medallion suspended from it.  The figures are a sculpted design with painted details. The ornament measures 11x7x7cm and is made from glass and resin. The little hearts surrounding the base are a lovely touch and show a great attention to detail. The ornament is part of the Sketchbook Legacy Film Anniversary Collection.  looking at my photos of the ornament I noticed that the Beast’s hand brown paint had sploged a tiny bit on to Belle’s dress, but it doesn’t spoil the overall aesthetic of the piece. 

I love this hanging ornament: Belle’s dress is so vibrant and detailed whilst the Beast’s tortured yet besotted expression has been captured perfectly. The ornament came packaged in styrofoam and a cardboard box so hopefully Disney has fixed the shipping issues which resulted in lots of damaged ornaments last year.

Review: Disney Store Enchanted Rose Light Up Hanging Ornament

 The enchanted rose light up ornament appears regularly as a part of the Christmas/festive hanging ornament collection and this year is no exception. The light up rose is encased in a  tiny bell jar and the switch to turn it on and off is on the bottom. It is very easy to flick the switch. The rose is a pivotal part of Beauty and the Beast and this tiny ornament is a beautiful tiny replica or tribute to the original. The ornament measures 8.5x5cm and batteries are included.

Review: Disney Store Hanging Ornament- Belle

 The  Belle Hanging Ornament (£13) is part of the Sketchbook/ Disney Store range. She matches Rapunzel with a yellow sparkly skirt and stands under an arch. She could be hung as an ornament or stood up on a flat surface - I keep a lot of my ornaments on display all the year round stood on a shelf. The ornament measures 10x4.5x8cm and is made from resin. There is a little silver tone 2020 charm on the hanging loop which has a castle - the same as Rapunzel on the other side.

Review: Chip (Beauty and the Beast) Trinket Dish.

                    

The Primark Chip trinket dish is part of the official Disney Beauty and the Beast range. He costs £5 and can be found on EBay UK for around £15.  He is ceramic and measures 12.7cmx8.5x12.7cm.  His expression is exactly the same as the cartoon version - cheeky and full of fun! The detailing on him is gorgeous. He has a the little chip and a gold enamelled nose with enamelling  around his base as well.  The item is well packaged in a box with a circular piece of plastic protecting Chip.   He would be a great gift for any Beauty and the Beast fan!

Primark Beauty and the Beast Chip Cross Body Bag & Purse

The Chip purse and cross body bag were available for about a second in Primark.  It is an official Disney product. I got mine via Ebay and the pair were £18 including postage. There are still some available on Ebay and the price seems to be slowly gong down.

The cross body bag is cute. It has Chip on one side and is a contrasting pink on the other.  It has a pinky/gold glittery bottom and a iridescent gold nose/handle. The zip goes along the back of the bag rather than the top so it can be difficult to fit things in it.  The strap is quite short as it is meant to be a child's bag and it is not adjustable in length.  The bag measures 12x19cm and the strap 39cm.

The chip  purse, like the bag has Chip on one side and is a contrasting pink on the other.  He has a glittery pink base, a gold iridescent handle and a gold zip at the top. He is fully lined.   He measures 9x11cm

Alex Monroe's collaboration with Disney was released earlier this week to celebrate the release of the live action movie Beauty and the Beast.  The pieces are enchanting and resemble the pieces in the film, rather than the cartoon version.  The jewellery is made from either sterling silver or 22ct gold plate and the prices range from £128 to £225.  The item look very tactile and some, such as Mrs Potts are 3D which is great if your sight is impaired as you can feel/see what Mrs Potts looks like.  These pieces of jewellery, just like the story are timeless and elegant and any Disney would love to have some in their collection.

Disney: Beauty and the Beast Jewellery

I purchased my official Disney Beauty and the Beast jewellery pieces from EMP, an online "Geek" store established in 1986 that stocks a wide variety of alternative clothing and merchandise including: Disney, Marvel, Gaming and band merchandise.  The items I bought ranged from £7.99 - £16.99 and arrived within  3 days of me ordering them.  As with the other jewellery collections brought out to celebrate the release of the live action film, the red rose features heavily in the collection.  They are not gimmicky or twee  and would suit eiher a child or adult Disney enthusiast.

These are the most reasonably priced official Beauty and the Beast pieces of jewellery.  All pieces are silver or gold toned and nickel free.  The length of the mirror necklace is between 61cm-71cm and the mirror pendant is 2 x 4cm.

 

The rose jar earrings are made of nickel free metal and plastic, have fish hook fasteners and are gold toned. They measure 8.9x6.4x1.4 cm.  The rose wrap bracelet is a little enamel rose, polyurethane and metal, measuring 85cm

The tree necklace is very similar to being sold at the Disney Store for £19.99, the only difference is the packaging.  It is made out of gold tone metal and is nickel free.  The necklace measures 46com and the pendant has 9 glass stones, measuring 12.7x7.9cm.

I have not shown pictures of the watches, choker and ring.  These can be viewed at EMP.  There are two watches, one is chunky with a stained glass image of Beauty and the Beast (in Prince form), £32.99 and a charm bracelet watch with several charms: rose. rose in the dome, Mrs Potts and watch itself (£32.99).  There is a scarf watch for £29.99.  There is a ring which fits all sizes (£7.99) with a secrest message "true beauty is found within" , a bead charm bracelet (£12.99) which consists of two bead bracelets.  The black one has a  rose charm, the red has the mirror. The choker is made out of the same material as the wrap bracelet and has a rose charm hanging from it (£7.99).

Swarovski: Disney's Belle and the Enchanted Rose

 This week Swarovski unveiled their sparkling interpretation of Beauty and the Beast - Belle and the Enchanted Rose. Released to coincide/ celebrate the release of the live action film Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson, this collection is the sparkliest (as one would expect as it is Swarovski) and includes a hair pin, ball point pens, jewellery and ornaments.

The jewellery is Atelier Swarovski so is the higher end, more expensive range. All the jewellery is hand set with Swarovski crystals. The hair pin is the most affordable at £45 and is the shape of a rose set with red and green crystals. More expensive items include a Victorian style choker with a hand set crystal rose (£349), pendant, clip on earrings and a ring. They are all premised around a rose rather than Belle and the Beast so aimed more at the adult market as they don't scream Disney when you see them. They are understated and elegant whilst staying true to the rose in the film.

The Crystalline Lady Ball Point Pens (£25 each or £46 for the pair) would make a great gift for any Disney/Belle fan.  The yellow pen has a picture of Belle embossed on it and has 540 yellow (to match her dress) crystals in it. The other has a picture of the Rose and is filled with red crystals.

The most affordable ornament is the Enchanted Rose (£109).  Measuring 9 x 6.2 x 6.2 cm, the rose is made out of 230 red and green crystals and housed in a glass bell jar.  Belle Limited Edition 2017 is made out of clear and yellow crystal and 450 clear and yellow crystals (£349).  Measuring 13 x 11.3 x 9.5 cm she is the perfect princess.  The Beauty and the Beast - Enchanted Rose Limited Edition 2017  (£1,595,00) is a rose made out 400 crystals and the bell jar is  replica of the one featuring in he 2017 movie.  There are only 350 pieces, individually numbered, worldwide and it comes in a premium blue box with letter of authenticity.
The most glittering and eye-catching item out of all the pieces is the limited edition Beauty and the Beast 2017.  Made out of 57,355 hand set crystals it features the main two characters - Beauty and the Beast.  There are only 250 pieces, individually numbered, worldwide and it comes in a blue suitcase with  letter of authenticity. The dimensions are 22 x 24 x  17 cm.

Beauty and the Beast Chamilia Bracelet

Disney are re-releasing the animated classic Beauty and the Beast on the 17 March 2017 as a live action retelling of the cartoon classic. Starring Emma Watson (Belle) Dan Stevens (Beast) and Luke Evans (Gaston) the film will update the older version with new songs and a new more feminist slant.
Chamilia have brought out several charms in conjunction with Disney to celebrate this remake. Mrs Potts, Chip, Lumiere and the rose are all there.

The price ranges from £35 for Chip to £45 for Mrs Potts. They are all made out of sterling silver with enamel and Swarovski accents. They are currently on sale at H Samuels, so grab a bargain - I love Mrs Potts and her lavender hat!
